The Battery Holster from OP/TECH USA is an ideal accessory for keeping an extra battery handy when shooting in the field. The soft, durable neoprene pouch slides onto your camera strap and is held conveniently and securely in place with a touch fastener. No need to fumble around in a camera case or backpack! The full-flap closure holds the battery or other small accessory securely in place yet opens easily for quick, easy access. The closed-cell construction of the neoprene keeps out moisture and dust while providing cushioning protection against impact. The added "bumper guard" created by the Lycra binding adds even more protection along the edges. Keeping an extra battery ready at a moment's notice is easy with the Battery Holster—you won't ever miss another shot because of a weak battery. It conveniently holds standard SLR batteries, AA batteries and others so you have the versatility to use it for all kinds of equipment. Proudly made in the USA, the Battery Holster is the perfect companion for OP/TECH USA's weight reduction straps and Soft Pouch - Digital-D Series protective camera cases.

Fits a battery and a memory card fro my Nikon D5600. I like the way the closure faces toward the strap so you can't snag it on something and lose the contents.I got this for my Peak Design Light camera strap to hold my extra battery. Fits perfectly.Do you remember the days when a little button battery would power a film camera for several years? These days with WiFi, Bluetooth, large LCD screens, power zoom, etc we’re lucky if we can get through a day before the battery needs to be recharged. When you’re traveling and taking once in a lifetime pictures there is nothing worse than your camera battery dying and you have no way of charging it. It is almost a necessity to carry at least one spare battery with you. But as small as the batteries are, where do you put it?Fortunately almost everyone has a neck strap attached to their camera, or some similar strap. This battery holster slips on to that strap and holds one typical-size battery like most popular name brand cameras use. I know some people attach it to their own belt but what better place to make sure you don’t forget it than right on the camera strap itself?PROSThe holster is made of neoprene rubber, like a wet suit. That’s a good thing because it helps keep the battery safe from physical knocks and dings and helps keep it dry in misty conditions. But another benefit is that it helps insulate the battery from static charges which could actually destroy your spare battery. I like that it is made in the USA and is very reasonable which makes it a good value. It has a Velcro flap that keeps the battery from falling out but is easy to access. On that topic there is something about the design that at first I thought was strange … the loop that you slide over your camera strap (or belt) is on the same side as the closure flap. That makes it just a little more difficult to get to the battery. But then I realized that was actually an advantage, with the flap facing the camera strap it is far less likely that something could catch on the flap and risk the battery falling out. And with some batteries costing fifty bucks or more, that is a very real concern.CONSNot one … this is exactly what I was looking for and I am truly surprised this was the only one like it I could find anywhere. Now that I’ve seen it and used it for a vacation trip I’m getting a couple more of them for other cameras I own, even including some of my pro gear.I love OpTech products... but I think they missed the boat on this one.The batteries for my a6500 fit in there just fine... however, the way it "attaches" to a strap is just not working. Also, it feels like it's built backwards as the flap closes inward instead of outward. That may be extra security so the batteries doesn't fly out. Bit it's awkward and feels like I installed it wrong all the time.OpTech can do much better than this. The holster easily holds the Nikon EN-EL23 battery (Coolpix P900) with room to spare. It also fits the Nikon EN-EL3e battery which is much thicker. I like the fact that the holster flap attaches via Velcro and that it folds to the back. The camera strap passes over the flip for extra security in keeping the flap closed. It seems extremely unlikely that a battery would ever fall out of its pouch. Holster is made of Neoprene and it should offer sufficient protection from any rain that I’d be willing to risk my camera in. For extra security, the strap loop does not open; the strap must threaded through the loop. The inner surface of the loop attaches via Velcro to “narrow” the loop opening. At the moment, I have the holster on the narrow strap that came with the camera (Coolpix P900) and even with this narrow strap the holster provides a snug grip that keeps the holster where I placed it without it sliding along the strap on its own. However, the holster still easily slides when I choose to move it. Another well engineered product from WP/Tech!Works great for mirrorless cameras where the batteries don’t last very long. You can keep a spare always keep a spare battery with your camera. That way if you don’t carry your big camera bag with you. However, it’s a bit on the small size. So if you have a larger camera battery, it might be a tight fit. It worked fine for my battery on EM-10mII, but it was a tight fit for EM-1mII.Although it’s stated that it works with thin straps, it doesn’t really. The pouch (without a battery inside) likes to slide around the strap, which can annoyingly get in the way. The Velcro that is used for the strap loop doesn’t really do anything to help keep the pouch in place in the strap, but as a matter of fact, it can catch on and damage stitching on straps that have edge stitching (straps that don’t have uniform nylon belting or leather straps).I’m sure this pouch works decently on a wide strap, up to the width that the strap loop can fit, but it didn’t for me with a narrow strap used on a lightweight mirrorless camera. I’m pretty sure it’s wont either with a high end compact or bridge camera. So, your mileage may vary!Aside from that, the materials appear durable as it appears mostly made of neoprene or similar material. I’d recommend this only for DSLR users with a simple shoulder strap (usually wide). It will probably be kludgy with the multiple adjustable straps.Pouch works well for me and fits a newer smaller Nikon DSLR EN-EL14a battery as used on the D3300 just like a glove even with a plastic cap, along with room for one SDHC card. Some people complain about the flap being next to the camera strap rather than facing outside. I am sure the design is intentional to avoid snags on clothing or other objects. I would rather take the extra 2 second to access the inward facing flap than risk losing a $40 battery. Seems a bit pricey for a mere pouch but it is made in USA so it supports jobs here. I have also owned 2 OP/TECH media pouches for 2 years for a point and shoot without incident or wear. This pouch would never have worked with my much larger older D40 camera.I have used an OP/TECH Pro strap for some years and when I got my new mirrorless camera, it succeeded to this. Mirrorless cameras are more "thirsty" for power than DSLR's. When I got this battery holster recommended in a Facebook forum I ordered immediately the holster and I am very satisfied with it.My husband bought this for me to put on my camera strap, which is wonderful, now I cannot run out of batteriesRather expensive and suits a wide camera strap. Made to OP/TECH’s usual high standard Holds Fujifilm X-T2 tiny flashgun or batteryJust what my wife needed as there was no room for a spare battery in the custom camera caseNos appareils photos moderne sont de gros consommateurs de batterie, il est donc nécessaire d'avoir avec sois une batterie de secoure.
